“Speaking of this vast area of our globe, so rich and fascinating in culture and history cannot be done in a generic way, as you cannot do with America, where Canada is so different from Tierra del Fuego.  Personally, I’ve always been fascinated by Asia.  First through reading and then by personal experience during the travels I had the privilege to undertake exploring this mesmerizing continent.

Nevertheless the sheer diversity and individuality between the single territories, some so close to the West, others more distant to our own culture but nonetheless enchanting in their millenary tradition, I could see one common aspect.  A continent at the forefront of technological development, with new solutions, advanced production techniques and a craftsmanship that is a testimony to the intellectual skills.

Getting insight in the culture, history, philosophy and tastes of your customers is crucial, and it becomes even more important when a designer and his company intend to enter a new territory.

I have always believed in design and in the mission as a designer to improve the quality of life.  As such, I feel compelled to deeply explore the culture of our customer to suit her or his tastes, to exercise an influence and trigger emotions, sensations through our work when creating an object based on the best technology available.

The philosophy of Pagani is deeply tied to Italy, a land that has always left an impact in the culture of style and beauty, from the masters and artists of the Renaissance Leonardo, Michelangelo, Raffaello to the contemporary Renzo Piano, Armani, Valentino, Giugiaro, Pininfarina, to name a few.

From Leonardo da Vinci’s universe and his perception of art and science as two disciplines that needed to walk together hand in hand I derived the inspiration that has marked my life since my childhood, and it continues to be the driving force for the work at Pagani Automobili.  Work that gives birth to what our followers appreciate for the artisanship, the technical, creative and intellectual contents.  The Pagani Huayra, to this date represents the pinnacle.

Since the start of Pagani Automobili, our aim was to transmit these values.  It took years to create our first works based on this rigorous concepts.  Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and the appreciation of aesthetics and shapes is subject to the individual interpretation.  The function, technology, safety and environmental aspects however are not, and require extensive scientific research.  The application of materials and processes derived from the aerospace industry and the consequent integration in automotive projects, have allowed us to create a unique reality, where specific standards in each discipline have matured over the years.

From 2005 up to this day, our path to enter the Asian market has been taken in small steps, concentrating in areas we were confident of being able to support our customers with the necessary relationship, focusing fully on the customer’s wishes.  This explains the success in Hong Kong, where Pagani has become an icon for lovers of automotive art and design, with 27 cars in the territory, making it the most popular super-exclusive sportscar in the territory.

Following the words of my father who always said that you can be sure of a customer when he returns to buy a second time, like in other markets, we have been rewarded also in the Asian territory with customers who have taken delivery of their fourth Pagani.

Top Marques Macao was the proof of our potential in Asia, an event visited by people from Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, India, Malaysia, Singapore and Korea.  It was an excellent showcase to appreciate the most beautiful automobiles and watches in the world.

You have to keep in mind this was the first edition of this event, and we have collected orders for 6 months of production of highly customized objects.  As a matter of fact, most customers wish to create their cars in a bespoke personalization program, where a dedicated team of designers, engineers and experts work closely with the customer to take the tailor made suit concept to a whole new level.

The presentation of Hong Kong and Macao is followed by the launch events in Singapore and Thailand.  We have kept an eye on these territories for years, and we have prepared ourselves for a long term commitment and relationship with the customers and enthusiasts of the Pagani brand.
